2011 in the Rear View Mirror

You all know how I hate mirrors. And how much MORE I hate the rear view! But I am delighted that 2011 is behind us. Every bit of good that happened has been nearly run over by the bad that followed. I have lived long enough to know that after a couple of those kinds of years, there will be good years to follow. It’s just keeping yourself together so you can be ready to enjoy the good when it comes. *staples self together*

The upshot for the comic is that the real world will still take priority and updates will continue to be very sporadic. However, my resolution is to make more time for the comic. I find I am more energized when I am being creative, and I lost my zest in 2011, the whole time I wasn’t doing the comic or at least drawing *something* every day.

It is so rewarding to make comics for you. I enjoy writing and drawing, but my enjoyment grows when I can share the comics with you. Talking with you in the comments and on facebook and twitter adds to the whole experience. That’s why when I’m counting my blessings this year, I include those of you who read and enjoy Life’s a Witch.

Working on New Project

I’m working on a new project…or maybe a new version of the same project! I’m very excited about what I’ve done so far and can’t wait to finalize everything.

Even though the updates have stopped, I haven’t! I’m still drawing and practicing and creating stuff, which I’ll share with you here and there.

(and yes, I’ll fix those last two strips as soon as I can!)

My Grandmother passed away this morning and I’m going to attend the funeral services. As they are in another state, this involves some preparation and traveling time so I’m delaying the comic for a short while.

Returning January 12!

The comic will resume January 12! Husband goes back to work tomorrow and then my time is my own again. We will resume with the Tuesday/Friday update schedule.

Also, I will be getting ready for the STAPLE expo coming up this spring here in Austin and I hope to see some of you there.

Today, I Strip

Greetings, I will be working on LaW until the kids come home today! Mainly, today’s strip which will be posted as soon as completed. It will be my 300th! I wish I had thought to make a special strip, but I’m staying with the “cuddlie” for now. I was going to celebrate by making a cake, but since yesterday was my son’s birthday, I’m caked out. So just say “Whoo hoo!” with me when it is finally posted.

I got a chuckle out of some of the search terms that found our strip in the last few days. “Can you start a fire with far-sighted glasses” was one that made me smile. Remember our discussion about that? And the “Emergency Snuggle” strip was found when someone searched “how to snuggle with your husband.”

Oh yes! I have made the official update days for the strip TUESDAY and FRIDAY, but the update times will vary. You don’t have to keep checking the site, though. The easy way is to have the update notice come to YOU. You can subscribe to the RSS feed, have the feed delivered to your email, become a FAN on Facebook, or follow the update stream on twitter (this is not the same as my personal twitter).
