I Like Drawing Feet
Yes, it’s true. I do love drawing feet. My husband says that I draw them all “knobby” and articulate. I can’t help it. I like showing each little toe and curl and figuring out where the ankle goes. As you can see from the pics, I don’t always get that right… or even the foot position. I LIKE drawing feet, but I have a ways to go before getting really good at it.
Interestingly, I have a horrible time drawing shoes. I can never get the proportions or shape right. Someone suggested to me that I should draw bare feet and just “go over them” with the lines for the shoes. This is a really good suggestion. Unfortunately, I find that I care more about the feet than about the shoes and allow myself to slack off when it comes to the “going over” part.
In the comic for 8/3/2010, I got to draw three panels with bare feet. YAY! The feet I drew are shown in close-up after the jump below. (The red dots are fire ants.)
