Child Endangerment

Sometimes they sneak up on you. Especially when you have soda with your baloney sandwich!

This strip was inspired by the latest story arc going on at Zorphbert & Fread by Dawn Griffin. (ZFcomics.com) Zorphbert and Fred are field researching “soft drinks” as part of their human studies. If you haven’t yet check out this comic, take the time to do so (as I’ve suggested to you all many times! Hahaha) as you will not regret it.

The “did someone call me?” part of the strip is based on an actual incident, though. When I was a teen, I burped really loud: “BRAAAAAaaaAAAaak”  and my brother in the next room goes, “Yes?” My brother’s name is “Breck.”

Ah, just in time for lunch!
They say it tastes better the second time.

Y’know, I’ve always wondered what the proper onomatopoeia for a burp would be…I guess “BRAAAAAaaaAAAaak” is as good as any!

Better be careful with those loud ones. You may end up with Barak Osama showing up! ^_^

bringin’ DA NOISE! LOL!

Hi, everyone!

Chris: ..er.. sorry about that. *grin*

DadaHyena: Jim Davis used “BRAAAAAK” for a Garfield burp once. It stuck with me, especially since I made that same noise when my brother thought I called him!

Dale: Hah! Being a politician, he has enough of his own hot air.

Dgriff13: Look Look! It’s Dawn Griffin from Zorphbert & Fred!! *squeee*

I was so excited to see you use the word “onomatopoeia.” My 4th grade daughter had that as a spelling word last week, and I had never even heard of it. How funny to see someone actually use the word in a conversation! You rock!

@Paige: That’s great! (DadaHyena gets brownie points for using it in a sentence.) You will sometimes see a post in a comicking forum asking for a good onomatopoeia for different things.

I don’t find belching in general gross, but someone doing it deliberately and LOUDLY definitely qualifies. In the film “Little Big Man”, the main character is in Tombstone, AZ, when he belches just as a certain man walks by. “Did you call me?” asks Wyatt Earp. “No, I belched,” is the response. So Wyatt hits him. LOL!

And thanks for the tip about Zorphbert & Fred. I’ve looked at the first bunch of strips and have bookmarked it. Do I really need another webcomic to follow? Don’t ask!

Hey, better out the front end, y’know? Mine are usually quiet, except when certain sodas go down the hatch.

Although lately, it’s been the tea I’ve been drinking. *sighs*

Funny, funny, funny, like Ketira said though better out that end then the other! Now that would be GROSS.

Brownie points! Yay! I can finally get my vocabulary badge!

JoanH; I’ve not see Little Big Man in years. HAHAHa at the “Earp” scene. You also need to check out Edmund Finny’s Quest to Find the Meaning of Life. That one always makes me laugh, but any of the ones in the sidebar give me a smile quite regularly.

Ketira and PattiT: HAR! We have a saying down here which I won’t repeat about that very option. I think since I’ve been trying to eat more veggies, I’ve been burping more. I have cut out cola of all kinds completely!

DadaHyena: *sews on vocabulary badge for you*

The earthquake observation center in Oslo called, asking how many survivors you got. ;)

Haha! Better out than in!

Cemalidor: HAHAHAH! If that sucker got as far as Norway, I think Witchy may seek medical advice.

Spencey: I’m sure that’s what the kids said. *grin*

Depending on how strong your intestinal fortitude is, we have a saying here: Does it taste better the second time?

Hahaha.. we have that one too, Dale.

Let’s see.. I’ll clean up the rhyme a bit and post the one I’m thinking of:

“It’s better to burp it and taste it
than *poot* it and waste it.”

Don’t tell me you guys have never heard that one.
