Magic Lights

People wouldn’t yell so much if you didn’t get the desired result often enough to make it worth a try.

Also, haven’t you ever tried to predict a light change to make it appear that you’ve changed it by magic? Try it sometime! You do feel like a doofus when it doesn’t work, but that one time it does you feel all magical and cool for about one second!

lol the understated “ding” is what gets me.

I will have to remember “Hocus Pocus Artichokus” it sounds very magical.

I generally look for ways to feel magical and cool for about a second, because after awhile, hey it adds up to like, whole minutes! :D

The trick is to keep your eye on the *crossing* light. When that one goes yellow, yours is about to go green.

Thank you for your good wishes. This strip is one of the fun things that kept me entertained for the last few months.

Magicing the traffic lights. I’ve only seen it done it movies, but sometimes the lights are just timed right, and a trip will have green lights all the way. Then there is the flip side, with every light red. That’s when the traffic gods are laughing.

Typical, isn’t it? As soon as the light changes, the drivers behind start kicking up a fuss because you’re not moving fast enough for them. The way some drivers ignore a stoplight changing to red, it pays to wait a few seconds rather than charge forward. I have counted as many as FIVE cars scoot through an intersection as the light changes. Very dangerous with multiple lanes of traffic. If you’re not in an emergency situation, driving an ambulance or fire vehicle, etc., CHILL. You will get to your destination more safely AND in one piece. And be considerate of us pedestrians, too.

I have a freind who will chant “green, green, green…” over and over till it turns green. Then he will say it turned green because of his chanting.

You know, I have some strange friends. Thank God for strange friends! They make life more livable!

Maybe the thread of a solid fireball would have convinced the light faster. ^^

stupid typo, threat was meant…..

Haha! This is great. The question is – did it change to green because of her spell or because she waited so long?

Further to my last comment, I also wanted to add that I’m very impressed at how much your artwork has continued to improve. I had a look through your archive and just wanted to say well done on a brilliant comic!

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I love coming in to read them first thing!

Warlock: I like the “ding” too!

MsDarkstar: Truthfully, all vegetables are magic. The more yucky, the more magical. Artichokes are particularly potent.

Nycteris: Your comment made me chuckle out loud. It’s true for me too. I like to feel magical any chance I get!

Dave Aronson: You know, I have done it by looking at the opposite light and trying to time it just right… unfortunately, I am usually foiled by the insertion of a turn arrow for the turn lane. *shakes fist*

Dale: I love your friends. (I think we know some of the same people. My friends are weird too!)

Cemalidor: Some days I really do feel like using a fireball…or at least a magic missile…in traffic!

Spencey: Unfortunately, traffic lights are magic resistant. Imagine the mayhem if everyone could switch the lights to their favor!! Witchy’s spell wasn’t any more potent than Dale’s friend’s chanting!

Thank you for the compliment. I actively worked to improve it last year. <3 Just wait until you see how great the comic looks NEXT year!

My husband tries to “magically” change the light to impress our grand daughter. She used to really believe it.

Artichokus? Hmmm…sounds green!

PattiT: I bet he can magically open supermarket doors and change the channel on the TV too!!! Hahahaha (We did that to our kidlets also)

DadaHyena: Exactly!! <3

Skip the magic spells. Traffic lights respond best after being sworn at and threatened – in binary.
