Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, one and all! Here in the US, this is the day of family gathering, sharing a HUGE meal and for some, sports! Thanksgiving’s actually a pretty big deal over here. I know other countries that celebrate consider it a minor holiday, but over here it is the main family gathering holiday on par with Christmas.  It was a big deal when we moved so far away that we couldn’t spend Thanksgiving with at least ONE side of the family.

Now, however, it’s been just the four of us for the big holidays so often that we have our own traditions and routines apart from our parents. I hope when the kids grow up and move away, they want to come home for the big holidays.  Even if we spend the day playing boardgames and watching movies, it is just so much better when we’re together.

I hope you have a long list of things to be thankful for this year.  This has been a rough year for a lot of us, I know, but if you think REAL HARD, I bet you can find 10 things at LEAST to acknowledge gratitude for in your life.

By the way, I’ve added the readers of this comic and blog to my list! Thank you for following along with me and the Life’s a Witch gang. I seriously love sharing my joy with you all.

You’re welcome, even if i turned up here only lately. ^^;;

Unlike some people, I try to add something new to my list of things to be thankful for every year. That way my list will grow longer as I grow older.

Cemalidor: <3 And you’ve been a wonderful addition.

Dale: That’s a great idea. My list changes every year, but I think I’ll try to specifically look for things that happened during the past year overall to be thankful for each Thanksgiving, too.

I hope you and your family had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I am so lucky that all of my children return home for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I think I would be devastated if they didn’t. We had a boisterous fun holiday with so so much to be thankful for.

I hope yours was great, too, Patti!
I know at least one your children are married. Don’t they ever spend Thanksgiving with their inlaws? I already know I will have to share them with the family of whomever they marry, but I want them to WANT to come here! Hahaha

Yes, two are married. I do Thanksgiving lunch they do Christmas day with their in-laws and for Thanksgiving the in-laws have their celebration the weekend after Thanksgiving. Yes, I love that my children WANT to come. I always tell them when the meal will be ready and then I tell them if you can make it fine, if not fine, I will cook the same amount no matter what. Some years one son comes in the evening for leftovers.
