Nacho Dreams
I read recently that Sony had acquired the movie rights to the board game RISK. Since Risk is a board strategy game, it’s petty good movie fodder (but really… can’t they come up with a war movie concept on their OWN?).
I wondered if movie rights for other games would be up for grabs. Clue has already been done. So, the next game I thought of was Monopoly. A real estate crime caper, slum lords, utilities… JAIL! It would be a great movie!
Oh wait…someone’s already thought of that (with Ridley Scott directing). But WAIT! There’s more!:
“Monopoly” is set up at Universal Pictures, which has a first-look deal with Hasbro to develop movies based on the company’s line of toys. Those include “Ouija,” which Platinum Dunes is developing, and “Battleship.”
Maybe Animal Planet will make a movie based on “Hungry Hungry Hippos” next!

Cemalidor: LOL! I don’t think Zelda would think in those terms. Maybe magical spray-on metal dissolver? (Found in most magical hardware stores, I’m sure…)
I guess that is why I am not a producer, I can’t’ think of any board game that would make a good movie. I really can’t’ imagine going to see Risk!

About the nachos and boardgames, be glad it wasn’t nachos (or any other gooey food product) and horror movies. After watching the remake of The Fly with Jeff Goldblum, I swore off any gooey substance for nearly a year! And the nightmares! :shudder:

Linda: Hahaha…hubby is totally unsurprised at anything Zelda says anymore.
Dale: Ewwwww…I had forgotten about The Fly! I saw that at the theater. I thought it was gross, even though I had my eyes closed most of the movie. (Boyfriend said he doesn’t get his money’s worth if I don’t watch the movie he paid for us to see. I got him back for being so silly by marrying him.)
I took the get out of jail free cards from an old monopoly game I once found in the trash and had them laminated.
I keep them in my wallet and they’ve gotten me out of several traffic stops over the years.
