The Magic of Witchy’s World

Those of you who know me personally (or reasonably well online), know that I live in constant appreciation and amazement for the modern world in which we live. WitchyTech.com was a site I created to share that wonder with others, in fact. But I find much of the world takes these wonders for granted, or are so intimidated by modern advances they stay far away from knowing too much about them. The video below was shared by a friend and I just laughed out loud. It describes perfectly what I’m talking about.

How does this relate to Magic of Witchy’s World? Well, magic in the comic’s universe is seen pretty much the same way. Everyone is used to it being around, so no one blinks at a crystal ball for a computer monitor or household appliances being used as transportation. There’s not a lot of amazement that the universe can be manipulated to make wonderful and not-so-wonderful things happen…it happens every freakin’ day to all of us!

The *real amazing magic* in both worlds is stuff like loving people, people loving you back, dogs, friendship, kindness toward and consideration from your fellow human beings and other planet dwellers. No one needs to look to magicians or mediums or hypnotists or dentists to work that kind of magic.

After reading this, I hope you take a moment today to appreciate that we’re living in the future! Imagine yourself as a child glimpsing the things you come into contact with today. (I’m CARRYING A PHONE around! It’s like Dick Tracy‘s wrist communicator!!)

I also hope you take a moment everyday to acknowledge and bask in the *real amazing magic* around you. Even on your absolute worst day, it’s there somewhere waiting for you to see it.

I love this post.

Talking about technology,,,

I think honestly I think that something like a crystal ball PC could be made, but, I’ve never seen a monitor hack, but, I have seen things like vodka bottles made into PCs, I’ve seen Nintendos turned into PCs (By gutting them and sticking all the stuff in there), I think a ball could probably house a PC, and give it a crystal ball look,,, it’s reasonable enough to say, if they can do something like that,,, I’ve actually seen people integrate a small monitor into something else, sou I think a crystal ball PC would be actually do-able.

Nintendo turned into a PC (Showing how to do it):

A whole bunch of PC hacks:

A wii/pc in one:

And I know somewhere I’ve seen something where someone took a small small monitor and integrated it. I can’t find the link, sorry. But, my point is, it’s essentially possible to make a crystal ball PC. The housing for the PC, and the monitor can be put all in one place.

Oh by the way, Nintendo wii controllers are bluetooth, which can enable you to use them as controllers with the PC as well (Just a note offhand):

lmao!
He’s right. People have become jaded with technology. They should be happy with the technological miracles we have every day.

I made my 13 year old daughter watch that and she laughed and laughed at the telephone dialing with sparks. (She’s seen those kinds of phones in movies.)

I agree. This is a great clip. (But an hour on the tarmac still stinks; sure, flying is miraculous, but I think it’s okay to take doors, stairs, and waiting room chairs for granted…) :)

HAHAHAH! You’re so right!
