If you follow me on twitter, you already know the inspiration for this story. My real life daughter got her hair done purple for the summer. The difference is that I went with her! It looks really cute. She was surprised that I let her do it. But not as surprised as I was to really like it!

LOL! And she looks like a little anime doll, too. She and her friends have been reading a lot of “manga” so that is being a big influence.
I hope that I am that laid back when my 2 girls (ages 8 and 9 right now) assert their personalities! I have been good about my son’s hair – he has gone from a buzz cut to shoulder length since skate-boarding has taken control of his life! I don’t think I would have a problem with purple hair, but it would be a drastic change from their very blonde locks.
I think the purple hair is a nice touch. I hope Mom doesn’t freak out too much when she sees it! I actually thought about dying my hair blue within the last 2 years, but I never got around to it(did I mention being in my 50s?) I still think about it once in a while. It would certainly cover the gray! LOL! P.S. How did the frosting turn out?
JoanH, I held off doing the frosting because we decided to make cupcakes for Father’s Day!
