Draft of Comic Collection

I compiled some Life’s a Witch strips into a collection and had it printed up to see what it would look like. I think it looks pretty good! I’m glad I made a draft first though as I see that there is some tweaking to be done (the print is darker than on the web for one thing). I will also try a smaller format to see how that would work as well.

Here is a short video showing the book:

What do you think?

Oh, to have the money to get a copy of that from you, but the economy is a very cruel mistress sometimes.

Yeah, no kidding! I am going to try several versions and see which is the best quality for the least amount of moo-lah. This would be the DELUXE version. HAHAHahah.

I’m going to make little comic book samplers, too. I have to say, it is VERY COOL to see the comic in print.

Looks very nice!

I love the cover!

Well then, congrats! Most webcomic artists never get to see their work in “dead tree” format.

and http://thinkweasel.com, natch. Just wanted to say that Nick is a prepress graphic artist IRL, if you need help or advice about taking your stuff from web to print. We both work across various media for a living! I go print -> web for a magazine I update, for instance.

:-)

Angela (Nick, too)

I think this looks awesome!

You should totally go for it (As long as you don’t stop producing the webcomic. I have come to like it.

You do a good job. I also love the music you added in.

What is that thing that was hanging from your hand at the beginning?

Just curious, how much would you be charging for that in that size?

Hi, Seshiru!

The book is just a collection of the webcomics, so I won’t stop making those. No worries there!

The music is one of the samples that photobucket offers when using their “Adobe Remix” feature for your videos. (If you haven’t ever used photobucket.com for storing images and video, I definitely recommend giving them a try.)

The thing dangling near my hand at the beginning is the lens cap from my camera! When I moved my hand forward to grab the book, the dangling lens cap rested on my forearm for a second. (Was hoping no one would notice.)

As for price.. gee, I don’t know. I think a final version of that one would have to be close to $35. It’s 130 pages and in full color. If I make that the “deluxe” version, I will split the contents into 3 smaller booklets. I am still toying around with the looks (mainly editing the images so they look a bit more clear in print).

(Maybe MsAnglea and hubby will consult with me when I get closer to a final version!)
